kicking the energy myths . . .
Let’s Kick These Energy Myths Aside . . .
Human design is beautifully nuanced and learning about your Energy Type gives you a gateway to exploring the depth of who you are. The science of Human Design is highly personalized, and the characteristics of each Energy Type should not be watered down to a one-size fits all stereotype. When we do this we fall into the trap of conditioning and create stories around who we are that can lead to feelings of lack.
Let’s take a look at a Myth for each Type:
Manifestors: “Manifestors are Overbearing”
Absolutely NOT! Just because Manifestors are meant to initiate things, it doesn’t mean they are projecting a “bossy” extroverted nature. Many Manifestors are introverted and since most value their autonomy and freedom, they can prefer solitude. Manifestors are meant to get things started, but that can be done in both extroverted and introverted ways.
Projectors: “Projectors don’t have energy”
Energy for a Projector is different from that of other types. it is also different based on the type of Projector that you are (Energy, Classic or Mental). A Projector’s energy is far more successful when they can prioritize and direct their energy efficiently and allow time to rest when needed. When rested and aligned, a Projector can get an amazingly challenging task done very quickly.
Generators: “Generators are meant to be doing things constantly”
Generators need rest like all other energy types. In fact, they will feel satisfied and ready to rest when their energy is spent on the things that truly light them up . . . not on things that are not aligned to their energy (ie. People Pleasing and conditioned responses to “doing”). Knowing what gives Generators that absolute “YES” to doing is where their energy can gain momentum. when it’s not a YES then take time to rest!
Manifesting Generators: “Manifesting Generators can’t stick to one task”
The important aspect to note here for a Manifesting Generator is that they may not be linear in their approach to a task. Or, they may be drawn to more than one pursuit. However, there may be times when a Mani-Gen is focused on just one. What needs to be clear is that they should not put themselves into a box and should attend to that spark that leads them.
Reflectors: “Reflectors are too sensitive”
Sensitivity is a super-power for Reflectors. But this does not mean they are “too sensitive.” Since Reflectors are constantly absorbing the energy of all other types and mirroring back, it is important to have solitude and time when this energy work is at rest. Sensitivity as a Reflector is not about being emotional. It is about being closely attuned to what is around them and helping us all see our work in powerful ways.
Getting to know who we are and applying that knowledge to the way in which we move away from our conditioning into freedom is key. If we approach Human Design as a way to just replace our conditioned beliefs about ourselves with new broad-stroking stereotypes then we have not grown.
When we truly learn about our Energy Type and how it works on an individual level, we experiment with the use of this aura in our day to day lives . . . THIS is when understanding evolves.
Human Design should never put you in a box. It should inspire, uplift and help you evolve in your potential. As a result, this also has a direct reflection on the potential of all others that we come in contact with. When you live out the incredible nuances of your energy type, it is felt by others and you leave room for others to do the same.
So . . . Kick those one-size fits all myths about energy types to the curb. Learn more, experience more, live more in your energy, and see the amazing occur.
